St. Patrick's Day

This years St. Patrick's Day parade was huge - the parade itself went on for about an hour with lots of floats and firetrucks and other cool things - and lots & lots of people were there to watch, too.  Maybe because the snow was all melted and the temps were in the 60's  - which is unheard of at this time of year - but I think everyone in the county showed up for the parade...including us!
It's one of our favorite holidays - and the kids always look forward to the parade each year. They dress in green, wear all the beaded necklaces we've collected over the years and sometimes even spray their hair green -- it's definitely a fun day.

All the girls were dressed in various shades of green - and then Wayne came walking out of the bedroom and declared he was ready to go --- we all looked at him and asked why he wasn't wearing green and he laughed and said, "I'm Polish, not Irish...so I don't haveta wear green" ... and that was that.
So he wore bright orange.
And we all chuckled at his (lame) philosophy.
Party pooper.

Our little group.  Not as big as it's been some years.

Another party pooper - dressed in brown & camo.  His favorite 'color' is anything camo, certainly not bright green.

Whoa baby - green, green hair!!

I love this picture!
Papa Wayne & James - watching the firetrucks.

The newspaper photographer even stopped and took pictures of the kids!

James was definitely the coolest lookin' little boy with his green faux hawk,
green tie, and necklaces!

but the laughter of children
makes a home."
