Baking

Ceara loves to bake and she has gotten quite good at it. She bakes several times a week. Things like cake from scratch, frosting from scratch, many different kinds of cookies, bars and various other desserts. A few days ago she concocted a dessert out of pistachio pudding, crushed pineapple, mini marshmallows, and whipped cream. Yesterday she made a batch of pinwheel cookies. I’m all for it…I mean, is there really such a thing as too many home-made goodies and desserts? (Especially ones that I didn’t have to make!)

I have witnessed her several times setting the little kids around the kitchen table and giving them each a spoon so that they can help to mix, sift, stir, and crack eggs. Not only is she the source for most of their home-made goodies…but she is teaching them how to eventually love to bake and create in the kitchen, too. (And if we keep this up, maybe, just maybe, I’ll work myself right out of my cooking and baking job!)

Thank you, Ceara. Job, well done!
