Broken nose

That's what happens when a rambunctious 18 month old throws his head backwards, unexpectedly, at an alarming speed, into the face of the unsuspecting person holding him.

Poor Shasta. The pain. The headaches. The sinus pressure. The bump on the bridge of the nose. The swollen, deep cranberry color. The faintly bruised eye. Oh, and the pain...still several days after initial contact.

Fortunately for Shasta, she nannies for a doctor, who happens to be the mother of the little boy that head-bonked her. Unfortunately for her, there's nothing that can be done. She can only hope that it heals with no complications and at no misshapen angle.

She keeps hoping that she doesn't end up with a cold while she is still in the healing process, since it is quite painful to blow her nose as well as "snuff" it up. The cold outside air also bothers her a great deal, so she wraps a scarf around her face when she ventures out of doors. Poor girl.

Good grief...what next?!
