It's never ending

Because we're so organized we have just begun our Christmas shopping. Yes, just a week-and-a-half before Christmas, we have decided it is time to buckle down and get serious about this. So, off to town we went, with lists and checkbook in hand.

Approximately 35 gifts later and too many stocking-stuffers to count...more than a few McDonald's hamburgers eaten on the run...braving cold temperatures and the snowy and slippery roads...much loose change thrown into the Salvation Army buckets...feeling very thankful that Target and Kohls have long extended holiday hours, well past the hours when most sensible people should be home and in bed...a few "Oh wouldn't so-and-so love this" and then needing to revise our original list...far too many funky Christmas tunes blaring over the store loud-speakers...more than a few glaring looks passed between husband and wife as patience begins to wear thin...two evenings of intense and frantic shopping...and several hundreds of dollars later...we're done with shopping.

But then, later at home, after surveying the sea of purchases, I realized that we forgot to buy wrapping paper and tape.

And, oh, the menu. I need to make a menu and buy food. Hot dogs and macaroni & cheese just won't do.

I guess it's back to town.

Oh, and I need to remember to grab another packet of blank check blanks. That shouldn't be a problem since, at this point, we have more check blanks than money anyhow.
