Ceara, Colter and I went to Ana's college a week ago to watch her perform her ASL song.
(Sidenote: Ana is in her second year of taking American Sign Language at college---she plans on becoming an ASL Interpreter.)
As part of Ana's final grade for this semester's class, she had to pick a favorite song, convert it to ASL, and perform it in front of an audience. She chose the country song, "She's Somebody's Hero" by Jamie O'Neal. It is a very beautiful and touching song.
Ana, in typical Ana style, performed the song perfectly, as the song played on the CD player. She is definitely gifted in this area...her movements are very graceful and it was a joy to watch her.
After the song, I couldn't help but have tears in my eyes, not only for the great job Ana did in interpreting the song, but also because of the touching lyrics.
It was truly a proud-mama moment.
Oh, and her grade was 100%.
