Messy baking

"OH NO!" Laura gasped from the kitchen.

A second later we heard a loud thud as something hit the floor, followed by a brief silence. And then uproarious laughter from both Laura and Ceara.

"OH NO!" from Laura again.

Mom, asking from the next room, "Ahhh...what happened in there?"

Laura, a bit confused, answered, "Ummm..." (silence) "Well...I don't really know. Ummm...I was trying to mix it all up...and everything got stuck to the beaters...so I put the mixer down...but somehow it got turned back on...and then it fell onto the floor." (smiling now and trying to hold back laughter) "And then the mixer just spun around and around and around in circles." (more uproarious laughter from both girls)

(What the picture doesn't show is how the batter was thrown all over the counter, splattered onto the wall and down the cupboard doors and onto the oven door.)

As the girls scraped and cleaned all the batter up, Ceara jokingly asked, "Mom, we should probably throw this stuff away, right?" (more laughter)
