as usual im behind with my blog posts.
tonight im posting about laura's birthday-
in reality it was her birthday over a month ago.
we have three birthdays in three weeks...
first its marissa's, a week later it's lisa's,
and a week after that it's laura's day.
a busy time of celebration around here.
im always a little relieved when those three weeks
are over. in between those three birthdays
there is also labor day weekend and the ending of summer,
and the beginning of school - not only for our homeschool
but also the start of college and high school for the older
girls - and the start of a whole new schedule to get used to.
its a time of busyness for us, for sure -
but we still make time for birthday celebrations...
we all love celebrations of any kind around here,
especially birthdays!

Happt birthday, Laura!!
whew - nineteen years old!
my kids keep getting older and older and i can barely keep up anymore.
seems like she was one of my babies not so long ago.
she's as lovely on the inside as she is on the outside.
i know, thats what all mothers say of their offspring -
but she truly she is.
we decorated with pink and turquoise.
no special reason.
she's a girly girl in so many ways - but is also on the verge on being a tomboy
in the things she likes to do.
(if that makes any sense?)
we served desserts, fruit and fun foods.
ha, we forgot to buy candles - and all we could find
in the cupboard were about seven funky tall ones...
but it worked!
and here's the dreaded required family photograph...
(but a few of my peeps were missing from it)
it was a good evening with lots of family time
which included a phone call from Ana, too (above photo)
i had to take a picture of that, just to make Ana feel included,
since she misses most of our birthday celebrations due to where she lives.
laura got lots of nice and fun gifts.
as with each of my kids, i always ask them for a birthday gift list a few weeks prior...
(and i have to beg and beg, and then threaten them, to actually get it done, since most of them are fairly humble and always tell me they dont need or want anything)
when she finally gave me her list, i had to laugh ---
because one of the items she asked for was toothpaste.
yes, toothpaste!
really, laura?!
so as a joke i told all of her siblings to include a tube of toothpaste in their gift to her.
so she got lots of toothpaste!
just like she asked!
she's way too practical sometimes.

hope your day was special!
