Busyness...

After trying to post my message three times last night...and the message getting lost somewhere in cyberspace each time, I gave up. So maddening!

I had been trying to post about our busy weekend and week, thus far. But, I'll just hit on the highlights...since I am a little weary of typing out all the details once again...

*Jessica came home for the weekend, bringing her cat...the little kids love her cat.

*Friday night found several of us shopping. Found some great clearance sales---summer shoes for the girls at only $1.00 a pair! The shoes are adorable and the original price was $39.00 a pair! Ya just gotta love those clearance sales...my favorite way to shop!

*Stayed up till 1:00 talking and visiting with the older girls.

*Saturday afternoon our whole family attended a family wedding. Jon, Shasta's boyfriend, also traveled up North for to attend the wedding with her. We enjoyed visiting with many of Wayne's relatives. After the wedding and reception (no dance), some of the girls went out with their cousins while Wayne and I brought the little kids out for a late supper at McDonalds. We were all dressed in our fancy duds, crammed into two booths, eating cheeseburgers, fries & McChicken sandwiches. After arriving home and tucking all the sleepy kids into bed, and after the older girls got home, several of us staying up till 3:00 am talking and visiting again! But...Daylight Savings Time began again on this evening--- and so that means an extra hour of sleep...which was very welcomed!

*Up early for Sunday Mass.

*On Monday Marissa had her last dentist appointment. Poor girl...she needed two shots of novacane in order for the numbness to set in. (I'm the same way...for some reason one novacane shot seldom gets my mouth numb, plus it takes an abnormal time for it to take affect.) Marissa's face was very swollen and the numbness didn't wear off for several hours afterwards. It seems like everything hits Marissa a little harder and is always a bit more dramatic for her than the other kids. Ahhh, but she's a brave little soul.

*Halloween evening. We were invited to an All Saint's Day party on Monday evening. Instead, we opted to stay home and roast hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire-pit, eat candy, watch a goofy movie and then put the little kids to bed early. Marissa wasn't feeling well and everyone was pretty tired.

*Tuesday---Happy All Saint's Day! Since All Saint's Day is a holy day of obligation, the kids and I went to
early morning Mass. Later in the afternoon, Wayne, Ana, Shasta, Ceara & Laura all made the trek to Duluth to go to Mass and listen to popular Catholic speaker, Scott Hahn, speak afterwards on the Holy Eucharist. They loved the message...and got home around midnight.

*Early Tuesday afternoon the Spanish tutor came to the house for another Spanish lesson for the kids. The kids are doing well and and enjoying it. The tutor is a woman from Chile who now makes her home in our little town. Every Tueday she comes to our home. So now the kids are learning both sign language from Ana, as well as Spanish! The joys of homeschooling!

*Wednesday (today) has dawned a beautiful morning...sunny with clear skies...but it is only 40 degrees...so a tad bit chilly. Today will be a quieter day. Laura & Lisa will go to children's choir practice at the church this afternoon...and that's all we have written on the calendar for the day. I like quiet, stay-at-home afternoons.

And, well...that's about it. I didn't write about the dishwasher breaking down, and the washing machine acting up, and Ana applying for another college, the friends we visited with, and all the other little, but neat, things we managed to cram into the last few days...but, rest assured, we have been busy.

And so life continues...
