Well, you know, it’s already been a full week since Thanksgiving. I had planned on writing a nice entry about our day, post a few photographs, and tell what we are most thankful for and all that…but besides having major problems with the computer, we have also been extremely busy…and well, time just flies, as we all know.
My very condensed story:
The girls prepared the majority of our meal. Since Wayne and I had been down in the city with Jessica (having surgery) until quite late Thanksgiving eve, most of the preparation fell to the girls. All of the shopping had been done by Ana and Ceara a few days before Thanksgiving. The pies were made by Ana and Lisa (Lisa made the pumpkin pie completely by herself!). The stuffing was prepared by Shasta, Ceara and Marissa. Laura made some of the salads. Colter cleaned out the turkey by himself, pulling out all the yukky stuff. They all pitched in and did a wonderful job…dinner was great! My parents came down for the day, which was nice. The table was set in its finest, the candles glowing, the little pilgrim & Indian figurines in the center of the table, and a delightful aroma wafting from the kitchen. Yes, it was a good day.
I am thankful for my kids…who have grown into some pretty responsible people. I am thankful that they were so willing to help out and there were not any complaints. (Not only with the Thanksgiving preparations, but also with the care of the younger children.) Thanks be to God...you've given us an amazing family. And thanks kids…you made your parents proud once again!
