Striving to be a good little wife and conserve on our energy bill, I hung out three loads of towels the other day. The first time this year, in fact. I love the idea of hanging out clothes and I love the smell of them after they’ve been line dried…but in reality it’s often easier to dry them in the dryer. My little shadow, Emma, was with me helping…handing me clothespins and a new item to hang up every few seconds or so. After a few minutes, however, I found myself fetching my own clothespins and laundry items. She was still very close to me…I could hear her chattering…but just no longer helping me. As I reached into the bucket myself for another clothespin, I noticed that they were dwindling in number. Looking behind me to see what she was doing with them, I noticed she was also ‘hangin’ laundry’…she had clothes-pinned the bottom of each towel to the next towel, in an effort to do the same as me!
