Winter fun --- kite flying

I'm not even sure what this kite thingy is even called.  I'm sure there's a special name for it, but maybe not.  I just know it's big and it belongs to Ryan.  Ryan, Laura & Colter went out onto the lake one afternoon to fly the thing.  Apparently it was a perfect afternoon to fly it, just enough wind.  Well, I'm not sure what to write about it, except the thing flew, they each took turns, some struggling more than others.  Apparently, at one point Colter was airborne - the kite taking him off the ground and he went sailing a short distance in the air!  Ha! He came down with a thud, landing on his back.  He was ok, just a bit stunned.  I guess the kite picked Ryan up and sailed him a few feet as well.  I tell ya, these kids need bubble wrap.  They all came home tired out and sore - but they were even more sore the next day.  Ha, silly kids!  Colter had a sore leg and limped around for a few days afterwards, too.  When I asked if he'd do it again, he looked at me like I was crazy and told me he definitely would.  Like, duh!

Shasta and some of the kids went out to the lake to take pictures of them.  It was a bit chilly out that afternoon and the late afternoon sun was beginning to set, casting that perfect golden color...
