midnight swimming

once again the season for midnight swimming has arrived. 

the kids have always done this every summer.  especially on those hot summer nights.  our pool isn't real cool this year.  too much icky weather and not getting the chemicals in when needed - and the result is icky looking pool water. 

plus the pool vacuum is broken  - its now been cobbled together, but still it isn't working the way it should.  and well, the list goes on and on - it's always something around here.  things get messed up, things go for days undone and we forget and so on and so forth.  but anyhow, the kids went for their first {of the season} midnight swim the other night.  the little girls got to stay up way later than normal

and were so excited - ryan came over and joined laura - and colter also joined them. 

i ventured out onto the deck for a few mintes and snapped a few pictures,

but the mosquitoes were so bad they about carried me away. 

but there's no doubt the kids still had a good time --- 

through the opened windows i could hear them laughing and hootin' & hollerin' as they splashed around and played beach ball games...

funny, but the black & white pictures make the pool water look way worse than it was. 

these were definitely action shots - plus the lights were casting weird shadows and i took these pictures with the flash off ,making everything look a little odd....but kinda cool though, too...
