ha, thats a funny title - it's a good thing my blog isn't hooked up with google search because who knows what kind of trashy peeps i'd get checkin this post out...
but "sister shower" is what we call it and it's aptly named because thats exactly what it was. it won't be long now and ceara will be getting married. instead of having a traditional bridal shower for her the sisters in the family (and me, of course) got together and spent a fun day together - since it was summer we decided to go garage saling and junking for the first half of the day, then we went out to lunch and she opened gifts that we each gave to her, and then we all spent the rest of the afternoon and early evening shopping......it was loads of fun and we all had a great day. unfortunately not all the girls could be there - laura was working that day and couldn't get the day off and Ana lives far away and was previously booked to photograph a wedding that day. bummer they couldn't be there, but with a family this size, it's hard to always get everyone together for all these fun occasions. it was still fun - and very soon everyone will come together again for the celebration of ceara & ted's wedding...

here we are, starting off on our 'sister day'

(we met up with jessica & her kids in town later that morning)
we made ceara wear a crown since the day was in her honor.
she didnt think the crown was as cool as the rest of us and only wore it for pictures!

we arrived home with a van full of cool stuff...

time for a mid-morning snack of chips!!
we stopped at a busy gas station where we all went in to look for snacks.
the young men cashiers sure perked up when these older girls walked in and were suddenly very accomadating and wanting to help the girls find their items - anything to talk to them for a moment or two. lots of small talk and checkin the girls out. as a mama i just stood back with a smile on my face chuckling at the attention...too funny!
ceara - this day was for her!!

makes me mad sometimes. but it makes me smile sometimes too.
yes, she's spunky and fun loving and has a contagious laugh - but she's pretty sweet, too.
she loved all the gifts we gave her.
