date night

date night is rare around here.
rare for wayne & i, that is.
not rare for the big kids.
they go out all the time.
it's rare for them to be home.
sometimes it's just easier for he & i to stay home
and do the thousands of things that require our attention.
or sit on the couch and just talk about the
thousands of things that require our attention.
thats way easier.
but occasionally we surprise ourselves
and our kids
and actually go on a date.
it's generally something simple.
because it's usually spur of the moment.
we like simple.
like going for a drive.
grabbing some DQ fries.
sitting by the lake.
talking.
listening to music. 
i'm a cheap date.
but this is what i like best.
and he does too.
